1. Performance and uses
Isothiazolinone is mainly composed of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMI) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MI). Isothiazolinones kill bacteria by breaking the bonds between bacteria and algae proteins. After isothiazolinone comes into contact with microorganisms, it can quickly and irreversibly inhibit their growth, leading to the death of microbial cells, so it has a strong inhibitory and killing effect on common bacteria, fungi, algae, etc. It has high biocidal efficiency, good degradability, no residue, safe operation, good compatibility, strong stability, and low use cost. It can be miscible with chlorine and most anionic, cationic and nonionic surfactants. At high doses, isothiazolinone has a significant effect on biological slime peeling.
Isothiazolinone is a broad-spectrum, high efficient, low-toxic, non-oxidizing biocide. It is widely used in oil field, papermaking, pesticide, cutting oil, leather, printing ink, dyestuff, tanning and other industries.

3. Usage
When using isothiazolinone as a slime stripper, the dosage is 150-300mg/l; for Bactericide, it is administered every 3-7 days, and the dosage is 80-100mg/L. It can be used together with oxidized Bactericide such as chlorine, and cannot be used in cooling water systems containing sulfides. The combination of isothiazolinone and quaternary ammonium salt has better effect.
When isothiazolinone is used as an industrial antiseptic and antifungal agent, the general concentration is 0.05-0.4%.
4, packaging and storage
Isothiazolinone is packed in plastic barrels, 25kg per barrel or determined according to user requirements; stored in a cool place indoors, storage period is ten months.
5, safety & protection
Isothiazolinone is corrosive and irritating to the skin and eyes. Protective glasses and rubber gloves should be equipped during operation. Once it touches the skin and eyes, rinse with plenty of water.
